Assist Design Associate Director in organizing and managing task assignments & planning, manpower requirements and coordinating in-house and outsource resources. This may involve writing and closing out Statements of Work (SOW).

Provide performance feedback and results for the group as well as coach, train and develop junior design engineers.

Conceptual Engineering – devising something that has not existed or been combined in similar way before.

Role is expected to result in several patent applications a year.

Provide support for multidiscipline teams to provide design solutions that balance customer requirements for durability, performance, cost and weight.

Ensure outsourcing work is completed, reviewed and approved by design associates with appropriate proficiency level.

Coordinate with other groups (ie Instrumentation, ED&L, EDSI, Test sites) to read across lessons learned, advance technology and improve engineering standard work processes/methods. Documentation and communication of results to management.

Review and approve Engineering task work / EKS.
Qualifications You Must Have
-
BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 10+ years engineering experience OR
-
Advanced degree with 7+ years of experience
-
5+ years of leadership experience in planning and executing engineering tasks

U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
-
Experience with gas turbine components – with emphasis on compressors.

Previous team leadership experience with the ability to mentor and develop staff
-
Experience in Teamcenter, Unigraphics NX, ANSYS, and classical methods of analysis.

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.

Compression Systems Engineering (CSE)
Compression Systems Engineering is responsible for the design, development, and in service support of all fans low-pressure and high-pressure compressors for commercial and military engine models. CSE is responsible for the identification and maturation of new technologies for these products.
Technical disciplines in CSE include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, and Product Definition.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
Employee will work regularly onsite in Middletown, CT. Building 140.
Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
