Boeing India Engineering and Technology Centre is currently looking for Associate Manufacturing Engineer to join their Manufacturing Engineering team in Chennai, India. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be part of a global team working on providing ME solutions to a wide range of Boeing products and services across the world.
A successful candidate will understand the importance of analyzing the Engineering Documents and collaboration within the team as these positions will focus on working with the team and support to create, revise and review the Production and Manufacturing documentations of Boeing Commercial Aircrafts.
Position Responsibilities:
- Able to work independently on aerospace engineering definitions involving GD&T. Should be able to relate the tolerances to geometric fits and assembly constraints.
- Working knowledge in aerospace manufacturing – assembly and fabrication, special processes – coatings and inspection.
- Able to work independently with Aerospace standards and record keeping.
- Able to modify and author detailed work instructions for aerospace assemblies and fabrication with minimal support from on shore ME engineers. Working skills on ME executive systems like CAPP/PLM/PDM are essential
- Able to independently execute manufacturability and producibility studies
- Working knowledge on aerospace materials and impact of heat treatment, protective coatings on physical properties. Aware of processes involved with composites, additive manufacturing and virtual simulation.
- Able to contribute towards solving complex problems in manufacturing using structured problem-solving methodologies. Proven expertise in solving routine problems.
- Able to propose and implement lean initiatives and drive results in manufacturing.
- Able to identify, measure and analyze project KPIs and propose actionable plans to improve them.
- Able to identify potential risks in the assigned work scope, contribute towards action plan and implement in assigned workspace.
- Proven expertise in working with CAD/CAM, PLM software/ME execution systems.
- Commodity knowledge on Structure, including Assembly , Material and Standard, Electrical, including assemblies and Harness
- Hands-on experience in drafting, The shop router, (traveler) that travels with the parts through the production processes.
- Router including but not limited to the following:
- Supplemental work instructions.
- RCCA, hands-on, and/or A3 methodology
- The MBOM for the job.
- Supplier specific Process Specifications.
- Inspection plans, instructions or checklists.
- Machining related sketches, set-up sheets, index plans.
- Supplemental data recording media.
- Heat treat data collected from Tier 3 supplier.
- Supplier drawings for supplier-owned designs (SCD parts).
- Test Plans.
- Process Control Documents (PCD’s).
- Good To have:
- Understanding of Boeing Specs, BAC, D-Documents, D1-4426 approval process,
- Nadcap accreditation Process
- Commodity knowledge on Interiors, Systems - Mech / Hyd, Including Complex Assemblies, Systems – Avionics, Lighting, Galleys.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Engineering Technology (Aeronautical, Aerospace, Mechanical, Mechatronics), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
- Hands-on experience in Aerospace Manufacturing Engineering.
- Proficient in CAD/CAM(NX/CATIA), PLM/MES
- 4-8 years of experience in creating, revising and reviewing the Production and Manufacturing documentation/Manuals.
- Experience with creation of manufacturing planning and authoring assembly work instructions.
- Experience on various advanced Manufacturing and Production methods and technologies.
- Experience in Build plan worked as Shop ME (Manufacturing Engineer)
- Experience on Manufacturing Bill of Materials, reading Engineering drawings, Service Bulletins, specifications and any other engineering sources to research, analyze, and interpret to include the information in Publications/Documentations.
- High degree of proficiency in MS Office tools (MS word, Excel and PPT).
Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 Plus related work experience or master’s degree with 4+ years of experience with an equivalent combination of education and experience.
