Role Definition
We are looking for a Supplier Development Engineer (SDE), that will have the responsibility for assessing supplier quality and ensuring that all products are defect‑free and compliant with manufacturing specifications as well as legal standards.
Responsibilities
- Conduct supplier quality control audits (supplier’s manufacturing environment, practices and procedures) to ensure compliance with organizational and federal policies and standards
- Develop inspection, testing, and supplier evaluation mechanism
- Execute validation processes according to Caterpillar requirements
- Generate supplier quality reports, monitor defect rates and areas that may lead to potential defects; guide suppliers in reducing these defect rates
- Support suppliers in improving their performance through process improvement, implementation of process controls, and development of quality assurance plans
- Resolve quality issues by leading collaboration with suppliers and internal customers, and document problem resolution

Profile:
- Advanced degree in the field of quality, mechanical engineering or equivalent experience (Master’s level or equivalent)
- Advanced level in English (C1 level).
- Ability to read technical drawings.
- Experience implementing quality processes with industrial suppliers.
- Strong knowledge and experience with APQP, including PPAP, FMEA, control plans, process flow, Gage R&R, and capability studies.
- Experience applying the 8D method or other structured problem‑solving techniques in an industrial environment.
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial, automotive, or aerospace sectors.
- Good command of Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience working with suppliers.
