Pratt & Whitney's Engineering Support to Operations (ESTO) organization is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Turbine Airfoil Casting Team (TACT). This team plays a critical role in driving process improvement initiatives with casting suppliers and assessing nonconformance to support timely product delivery.
What You Will Do:
-
Support the airfoil casting tooling qualification process in accordance with PW-QA 6078 standards. This process is essential to maintaining the high-quality standards required for Pratt & Whitney’s industry-leading engines.

Disposition of airfoil casting tooling qualification packages per PW-QA 6078.

Disposition of quality defects, many of complex scope, defining “Right-size Analysis” through a risk-based decision-making process.

Influence multi-disciplinary teams, including subject matter experts, project, operations, quality, and procurement, to drive root cause investigations, develop associated corrective actions, and implement product and process improvements.

Support time-critical quality issues in support of engine and module delivery.

Develop Class II engineering changes.

Drive continuous improvement into the product development cycle and design of next-generation hardware.

Travel Requirement: 10% (Domestic and International).

Qualifications You Must Have:
- A Bachelor's of Science degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) and 5 years of experience in engineering, or an Advanced degree in a related field with 3 years of engineering experience.
Qualifications We Prefer:

A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.

Turbomachinery experience in Airfoil design or manufacturing

Proficiency in SAP, Teamcenter, Unigraphics NX, and classical methods of analysis

Experience with GD&T ASME Y14.5M-1994

- Engineering Support to Operations (ESTO): ESTO provides dedicated support by eliminating quality notifications, escapes, works stops and enabling producibility and delivery of legacy and new parts, assemblies, modules, and engines. ESTO covers all engine programs and part families, enabling engine deliveries, first piece reviews, first article inspections, analysis automation, process certification. ESTO also supports the Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) initiative in Operations. Technical disciplines in ESTO include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, Product Definition, and Manufacturing Engineering.

- Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
