Job Description Summary
The Lead Quality Engineer is responsible for developing expertise and executing the quality engineering function for 9X Liner Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMC) components. Provides leadership, and mentorship as an individual contributor, fostering a culture of collaboration with all functions in Asheville and supporting Design teams. Success in this role will be measured by ensuring quality of on-time delivered product, driving continuous improvement in yield, and process efficiency.

Roles and Responsibilities
Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Lead and coordinateprocess and product improvement programsfor 9X Liner CMC components
- Establish and promoteprocess method excellencewithin the team and with cross-functional partners
- Create and sustain anenvironment of continuous improvementfor all assigned products and processes
- UseRCCA (Root Cause and Corrective Action)to address quality and compliance issues in the area
- LeadAPQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning)initiatives to ensure:
- Successfulnew product introduction (NPI)
- Robustongoing quality control
- ApplyFLIGHT DECK toolsto drive continuous improvement in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost
Technical & Production Leadership
- Providetechnical guidanceon quality requirements, standards, and best practices
- Offerquality and production leadershipto assigned teams, even as an individual contributor
- Support the development, validation, andindustrialization of manufacturing processesfor CMC components
- Work collaboratively withDesign, Materials, Manufacturing, and other support organizationsto:
- Translate design intent into robust manufacturing processes
- Improve manufacturability and process capability
Supplier & External Interface
- Interface withoutside service providers and suppliersto:
- Ensure compliance withquality requirements
- Verify and improveprocess capability
- Support supplier development and problem resolution
Operations & Scheduling
- Partner with operations teams onproduction schedulingto meet customer requirements
- Support thedevelopment and flow of hardwarethrough the manufacturing process
- Help balancecapacity, quality, and deliveryneeds in daily operations
Communication & Collaboration
- Effectively communicatekey issues, risks, and priorities to operations teams and leadership
- Share status ofquality metrics, improvement actions, and RCCA progress
- Foster acollaborative cultureacross functions in Asheville and with Design teams
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degreefrom an accredited university or college (or ahigh school diploma / GEDwithat least 4 yearsof professional experience in a manufacturing environment)
- At least 3 years experienceinManufacturing & Production Quality Assurance
