Title:
Senior Consultant, Advisory & Consulting (Energy Security)
Reporting to the Principal Consultant, the individual will work within the Global Energy Security team, in close collaboration with the organization’s vast engineering, technology, and scientific resource base. The role requires an engineering foundation with hands‑on involvement in technical work and engineering reviews, in addition to project delivery and client-facing responsibilities. The role provides opportunities to grow into broader technical leadership and advisory responsibilities.
Job Responsibilities:
Undertake a range of consulting projects including concept studies, feasibility studies, pre‑FEED, FEED support, and transaction advisory work, supporting both technical and commercial assessments.
Lead and perform engineering reviews, calculations, and technical assessments related to the candidate’s core professional discipline.
Plan, organize, coordinate, and controls projects in accordance with established procedures and systems adopted by the client and/or the company.
Undertake Technical Due Diligence on a variety of sustainable and decarbonization Merger and Acquisition projects including conventional low carbon projects, ammonia, hydrogen, renewables, energy storage, interconnectors, geothermal, hydro and biomass for financial investors and/banks, providing clients with details of how technical risks can impact their projects
Guide and review engineering work, ensuring alignment with project design intent, client expectations, and local requirements.
Demonstrate a working understanding of regulatory and permitting requirements in APAC region during different stages of project development.
Serve as proposal manager or technical workstream lead for projects, supporting scope definition, execution strategy, and technical input.
Execute small to medium consulting engagements, which include coordinating with cross-discipline teams to develop bespoke solutions for clients
Act as and be recognized as a ‘Subject Matter Expert’ in specific expertise in one of the following value chains / applications, such as:
Gas related technologies (FSRU, LNG, LPG, CNG, Hydrogen);
Nearshore / offshore Green and Blue Ammonia / Hydrogen applications including transmission, distribution and bulk carriers;
Refining, Petrochemicals & Chemicals;
Power;
Conventional low carbon projects;
Carbon capture, utilization and storage;
Sustainable fuels;
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and/or Science, relevant higher degree is a plus (Masters, PhD, MBA)
At least 8 years of engineering and/or project experience, including experience in relevant industries (eg: Refining, Petrochemicals & chemicals, Power, LNG, low/no carbon alternatives, CCUS).
Proven capability in delivering high-end consulting projects and managing key stakeholders.
Background in an engineering, technical consultancy, owner’s engineer, or similar role where technical judgement and review were required.
Sound understanding of energy security and energy transition technical concepts, with willingness to deepen knowledge across technical and commercial dimensions.
Demonstrates business acumen and financial literacy, including an ability to understand commercial feasibility, cost drivers, and basic financial evaluation concepts.
Ability to work collaboratively with direct team members and broader colleagues, while confidently providing technical direction and guidance.
Excellent verbal communication skills for interacting with clients, good cultural awareness
Work experience with an industry company, licensor or technical consultancy is a major plus
Must be able to travel within APAC region
