The Raytheon team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to support the Army Navy/Transportable Radar Surveillance Model 2 (AN/TPY-2) team in the Missile Defense Sensors (MDS) Software Department. The MDS Software mission is to provide world-class radar and Command and Control (C2) Software for our customers’ wide array of surveillance and warning systems. As a member of the team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development, integration, and deployment of mission-critical systems.
The role of Senior Software Engineer requires advanced technical expertise, leadership, and the ability to mentor junior team members while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
What You Will Do
-
Design, develop, integrate, and test software solutions to address complex system requirements in an agile, collaborative environment.

Analyze, implement, and test software modifications to enhance the functionality and performance of the existing system baseline.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex software issues based on software trouble reports.
-
Collaborate with systems engineers, integration and test engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of software solutions into radar and Command and Control systems.

Participate in agile execution and implement continuous improvement initiatives, driving best practices and process efficiencies across the team.

Ensure high-quality software deliveries multiple times a year, meeting customer requirements and program timelines.

Foster a culture of technical excellence and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications You Must Have

Typically requires a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

Experience developing software using Python, C++, Ada, or similar languages.

Qualifications We Prefer

Experience with radar software development and/or radar concepts.

Experience with Agile frameworks and DevSecOps methodologies.

Strong problem-solving skills & attention to detail.

Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment

Familiarity with common SW release processes.

Experience with program improvement, specifically automation.

Familiarity with missile defense programs and experience working on large, complex systems.

Advanced knowledge of software integration, testing frameworks, and debugging tools.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
