Job Description Summary
As part of the Edison Works Program Management Office (PMO), the Program Planning and Scheduling Manager will play a critical role in driving excellence in program planning & scheduling, earned value management (EVM) practices, and cross-program integration. This people leader position requires a strong focus on process development, standard work, talent development, and compliance adherence, while fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing across programs. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with expertise in program and project scheduling, EVM, and lean methodologies (FLIGHTDECK).
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Standard Process Development
Establish and refine processes for schedule creation (EVM and program schedules), frequent schedule updates, and integration of schedules with the program's lean journey (e.g., FLIGHT DECK).
Ensure compliance with schedule structures and standards, aligning with program and organizational requirements.
Develop and implement best practices and standard work for milestone planning, long-range program planning, and other critical planning elements.
Partner with Scheduling and Program teams to ensure effective adoption of scheduling processes, standard work, and tools.
People Leadership and Talent Development
Mentor and develop team, creating a robust talent pipeline for roles within the organization.
Foster growth opportunities for team members, enabling them to expand their skills and capabilities.
Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the scheduling and PMO team.
Schedule Management
Collaborate with Program-assigned schedulers to develop and implement best practices for schedule build and execution, ensuring alignment with compliance standards and program requirements.
Develop and maintain a playbook for critical schedule-related reviews and evaluations, such as Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBRs).
Detailed knowledge of scheduling practices includes but not limited to critical path analysis, schedule margin, float management, and schedule risk assessments.
Active member of EVM Control Board across GE business.
Training and Knowledge Sharing
Serve as the "Dojo" or training hub for scheduling activities across all programs, ensuring team members are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
Develop and deliver training materials, workshops, and resources to enhance scheduling proficiency across the organization.
Promote knowledge sharing and best practices through collaboration and communication across teams.
Facilitate collaboration and integration of scheduling practices across various programs within Edison Works to drive consistency and alignment in scheduling methodologies, tools, and standard across programs.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college. (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years Program Management, specifically scheduling experience.) Minimum of 5 years of experience with Program Management, specifically scheduling.
Must be a US Citizen
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance
Preferred Skills
Business Degree preferred.
Advanced proficiency in scheduling tools and software. Knowledge of scheduling software; Open Plan, P6, and/or Project
