The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) IT Business Systems Analyst Center of Excellence (BSA CoE) supports, maintains, and implements enhancements to WWP’s IT business systems.
The Business Systems Analyst Intern will gain hands-on experience supporting IT business processes and systems in a collaborative, learning-focused environment. With guidance, the intern will learn how to gather and document business requirements, support user acceptance testing, and assist in analyzing technical solutions. The intern will gain exposure to quality assurance processes and learn how system improvements are identified and supported in alignment with WWP’s mission.
Note: This internship is unpaid and is designed to offer educational training similar to that of an academic setting. The duration of the internship will not surpass 16 weeks.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Observe and learn how business functions and IT systems support organizational operations by reviewing processes, documentation, and system outputs.
Learn how business systems and user requests are reviewed by assisting with information gathering and documentation under close supervision.
Participate in guided research activities to understand potential system solutions and industry best practices.
Assist with learning how business requirements and project concepts are documented as part of a structured learning experience.
Shadow teammates and collaborate with business partners to understand how functional requirements are gathered and analyzed.
Learn how business requirements are translated into user stories and introductory technical documentation.
Participate in team discussions and brainstorming sessions to gain exposure to problem-solving approaches.
Observe and assist with system testing activities, including learning how test cases are developed and executed.
Gain exposure to basic risk assessment concepts and how potential system issues are identified.
Assist with organizing project documentation and learning about system governance and protocols.
Learn how reports are prepared by assisting with collecting, organizing, and summarizing information for educational purposes.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Interest in learning about business systems, technology, and IT operations.
Willingness to ask questions, seek feedback, and learn in a structured, supervised environment.
Ability to collaborate with others and learn how teams work together to support business goals.
Curiosity and eagerness to develop problem-solving skills.
Developing verbal and written communication skills, including learning how to explain basic technical concepts.

EXPERIENCE
Requirements
Coursework or academic exposure related to business, information systems, or technology.
