BAS Operator – JLL
What this job involves:
We are seeking a highly organized and responsive BAS Operator to join our Building Controls & Automation (BCA) team at our San Jose Campus. This role serves as the single point of contact for monitoring and coordinating all facility systems, playing a critical role in maintaining operational efficiency, safety, and communication across departments, engineering, vendors, and management.
The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring building systems, responding to alarms and escalations, coordinating vendor work, and supporting engineering dispatch in a 24/7, 365-day critical environment. This position requires individuals who are detail-oriented, responsive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and timely communication are essential. You will conduct detailed shift pass-downs, perform daily electronic rounds using the Web CTRL system, and ensure all operational processes follow Critical Environment Practices.
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Monitor Building Controls & Automation systems for the San Jose Campus and respond to alarms, emergency notifications, work orders, and escalations
- Conduct daily electronic rounds using WebCTRL system and monitor network and critical systems
- Dispatch engineering for P1/P2 or escalation work orders and coordinate fire alarms, elevator entrapments, and other critical events
- Acknowledge and respond to alarms in WebCtrl; verify, create, or update work orders in Corrigo as needed
- Manage and coordinate vendor check-ins/check-outs; verify vendor documentation (CWA, CR) and send notifications
- Create and manage cases for WebCTRL findings and failures
- Conduct detailed shift pass-downs and maintain digital shift logs with accurate equipment details and mailer notifications
- Handle BCA phones and radio communication effectively; communicate clearly in Webex chat and SMS
- Verify dashboard schedule, Change Requests (CRs), and CWAs; send notifications if work falls under event classification
- Double-check Fire Impairment (FSI) schedules and compliance
- Conduct daily critical engineering rounds and log issues; assist with sub-work orders and coordinate with Facility Managers
- Review and respond to outstanding escalation emails and cases
- Complete all required training (MyLearning)
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1–2 years of experience in facilities operations, dispatch, or building automation systems
- Familiarity with Corrigo, WebCtrl, or other building management systems (BMS)
- Strong organizational and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to prioritize and respond to multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable working rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow critical environment protocols.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree
- Experience in critical facility operations (data center, hospital, etc.)
- Knowledge of fire life safety, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Understanding of vendor coordination and change request workflows
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, web-based tools, and radio communication protocols.

Work Shift:
Tuesday-Saturday, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM with Sunday and Monday off
Salary/Comp:
$65,000 - $72,000 per year
This position does not provide visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Estimated compensation for this position:
65,000.00 – 72,000.00 USD per year
This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
