Overview
ABM Industries has an exciting opening for an Account Director to support a national client. The Account Director is dedicated to one large, national strategic account. This role is ABM’s single point of contact to the client, communicating our responses to operations escalations, pricing proposals, and data requests.
This position will provide both hands on and strategic direction and leadership throughout multiple sites across the U.S.
Travel: Domestic travel 50-75% anticipated
This is a Hybrid Role (in-office 4 days/week), when not on travel, preferably based in one of the following locations:
- Atlanta, GA
- Bentonville, AR
- Dallas, TX
- Minneapolis, MN

Responsibilities
- Sets and executes the relationship management strategy with the client Category Manager for fulfillment centers.
- Acts as the single point of contact for ABM with the client Category Manager for fulfillment centers, providing timely and accurate communications across all channels
- Identify the client’s key operating standards and metrics for the ABM Program at all client Fulfillment Center Sites and work with the ABM team to ensure alignment on our reporting and performance.
- Contribute to and advise on the content and messaging in our monthly and quarterly business reviews
- Grow the business by leading the bid and proposal activity for ABM at all client Fulfillment Center sites.
- Partner with the account Vice President of Operations to:
- enable consistent ABM program performance across all client site types,
- enable consistent communication to ABM field operations across all client site types, and
- enable Senior Operations Mangers to address ABM performance issues in their assigned territory
- Partner with the Business Operations Manager to:
- develop client-specific metrics and reporting that will be used to drive Continuous Improvement of ABM’s performance; and
- ensure ABM pricing and wage rate proposals for Fulfillment Centers are delivered on time, with high levels of accuracy and market-competitive rates
- ensure ABM Accounts Receivables for Fulfillment Centers are managed with urgency
- Drive the team to be Client centric, including developing strategies to enhance our customer service and growth, focusing on communication, service excellence, and efficiency to influence positive Client experience and feedback.
- Challenge the current business process and direct management to eliminate waste by reducing non-value added activities.
- Work directly with and challenge other management and employees within the organization to identify problems. Assist colleagues in determining solutions that will allow the Company to achieve its goals in the areas of profit, growth, retention and Client satisfaction.
- Initiate, coordinate and oversee major projects across fulfillment centers, including startup training etc.
- Participate in and contribute to site performance reviews and recommend employee training and skill development activities.
- Communicate company and portfolio issues and goals. Facilitate regular portfolio review and planning calls.

Qualifications
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Experience & Skills:
- 7-10 years of experience in facilities management or janitorial services environment, including management
- 5+ years of distribution and/or fulfillment center experience, required
- Experience leading large, multi-site eCommerce or distribution operations with accountability for service, cost, and performance
- Proven ability to drive results through senior site leaders and cross-functional partners in a complex, matrixed environment
- Strong client-facing leadership skills, including executive engagement, escalations, and contract/SLA accountability
- Demonstrated success analyzing performance data, identifying gaps, and implementing scalable operational improvements
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives and regional priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills grounded in operational metrics
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence at all organizational levels
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly to support regional operations and client relationships
- As needed while at the client sites, there will be significant amounts of walking, lifting up to 40 lbs, handling pallet jack equipment, cleaning.
