Education: Diploma or degree in electrical, mechanical, building services engineering, or related field (relevant work experience can substitute). Experience: Minimum [X] years of experience in operating and maintaining BMS or similar control systems in commercial/industrial settings. Technical Skills: Proficient in BMS software/hardware, knowledgeable about building system electrical/mechanical principles, and able to read schematics. Soft Skills: Excellent communication, strong problem - solving, good organizational, and high attention to detail. Shift Flexibility: Willing to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays for 24/7 coverage. What this job involves
System Monitoring:
Routine Operations:
- Adjust setpoints, schedules, and operating modes (e.g., occupied/unoccupied) based on building usage and client requirements
- Perform start-up and shutdown procedures for plant equipment via the BMS interface
Reporting & Documentation:
- Log all system events, operator actions, and maintenance requests in work order systems (e.g., IBM Maximo, ServiceNow)
- Generate daily/weekly performance reports on energy consumption, system uptime, and alarm trends
Coordination:
- Liaise with on-site engineers, contractors, and client representatives to support system testing, commissioning, or troubleshooting
- Assist in after-hours support during emergencies or planned outages.
Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure building systems operate within regulatory, health, and safety standards (e.g., ASHRAE, local codes).Follow cybersecurity protocols when accessing control systems
