Job Description Summary
The Product Owner for Knowledge Sharing and Document Management is responsible for leading product strategy, roadmap, and delivery for enterprise knowledge and document management solutions. This role partners closely with business, technology, and knowledge management leaders to define and deliver governed, scalable capabilities that enable knowledge sharing, collaboration, and compliance in a regulated environment. The Product Owner owns and manages the backlog, drives feature definition and prioritization, and works directly with development teams to deliver high-quality, high-adoption products.

Roles and Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
Demonstrate superior product, business, and industry knowledge of knowledge sharing and document management, including the competitive landscape, helping the organization maintain a strong competitive edge.
Interact with customers and stakeholders in VOC requirements-gathering, refinement, and product feedback to shape product strategy and surface and prioritize needs.
Develop a deep understanding of business goals and processes to inform product and services priorities, improvements, and measurable outcomes.
Partner with the Information Science and Knowledge Systems business leader and Knowledge Managers to develop and promote a strong culture of knowledge sharing across the organization.
Work with cross-functional teams, including UX, architecture, engineering, compliance, and security, to deliver features and major, complex products.
Lead product, roadmap, feature definition, planning, and lifecycle management efforts for knowledge sharing and document management capabilities.
Possess and apply a deep understanding of the technology stack and its impact on the final product, including performance, scalability, and security.
Routinely collaborate with UX and design teams and conduct customer and stakeholder interviews to elaborate personas and inform design decisions.
Demonstrate superior persuasion and influencing skills to ensure alignment between customers, product management, and development/engineering teams.
Own the releases and sprint backlogs, including the short-term roadmap for MVPs and quarterly releases.
Own and manage the product backlog, continuously ordering and prioritizing to ensure that 1–2 sprints of backlog are always ready.
Prioritize continuously based on validated customer problems and needs, business value, risk, and technical constraints.
Demonstrate strategic-level skills in problem decomposition, problem solving, and the ability to navigate ambiguity.
Engage frequently (approximately 50 percent of the time) with the development team, facilitating discussions, providing clarification, accepting and refining stories, participating in testing and validation, and contributing to design activities and decisions.
Translate unstructured or ambiguous work requests into actionable user stories and work units with clear acceptance criteria.
Partner with Development Leadership and Service Owners to ensure a healthy, efficient development process and effective Agile execution.
Ensure alignment and adherence to standards, including architecture, compliance, security, and governance.
Increase adoption and consumption of product capabilities through stakeholder engagement, communication, and change management.
Mentor junior team members and contribute to building product management capability across the organization.
Serve as an expert in Agile methodology, applying Agile principles and best practices consistently.
Technical Qualifications
Demonstrated experience implementing governed taxonomies and metadata models within technical products to support findability, compliance, and consistent information architecture.
Strong knowledge of SharePoint Online and the M365 environment.
Familiarity with knowledge management in a regulated environment.
Strong knowledge of software design and coding principles and experience working in an Agile environment.
Familiarity with versatile implementation options and the ability to understand and discuss topics such as caching, APIs, data transfer, scalability, and security at a level sufficient to make informed product decisions.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 4 years of professional experience, or an associate’s degree with a minimum of 7 years of professional experience, or a high school diploma with a minimum of 9 years of professional experience.
For senior-level roles in the USA, typically a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience is expected.
Minimum 3 years of professional experience in technical product management or IT.
Minimum 3 years of professional experience in knowledge management systems or other document management systems.
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required; employment visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
