Work Arrangement : This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Grand Rapids Operations on a full-time basis.
The role will be for 2nd Shift; overtime is expected.
The Role:
The Career Level Manufacturing Engineer will be skilled in manufacturing equipment, tooling, process improvements, and overall manufacturing process support. This role operates in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where innovation, creativity, and initiative are applied to support current operations. The position will focus on high-volume machining and grinding processes and is a 2nd Shift assignment.
What You’ll Do:
You will support manufacturing operations through a variety of technical and cross-functional activities, including:
· Ensure manufacturing technical documentation remains accurate and up to date.
· Provide technical direction to internal teams and oversight of external vendors to ensure processes, equipment, and solutions meet quality, efficiency, and production requirements.
· Collaborate cross-functionally to drive problem-solving efforts, including improving equipment efficiency, resolving downtime events, and addressing customer quality concerns.
· Provide day-to-day support for manufacturing operations and maintenance activities.
· Participate in identifying and resolving safety and ergonomics issues.
· Facilitate or deliver training for team members and maintenance personnel, including developing technical training manuals and work instructions as needed.
· Support project planning and coordination to ensure tasks are completed on schedule and within budget.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
3+ years of experience in an engineering support role within a manufacturing environment
· Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
· Working knowledge of high-volume manufacturing environments
· Experience using computer-based office and engineering software, including Microsoft Office and AutoCAD
· Demonstrated ability to apply structured problem-solving and root cause analysis techniques
· Ability to work 2nd shift, weekends, and overtime as business needs require
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
· Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
· Knowledge of CNC machining processes, including ID grinding, OD grinding, drilling, milling, and turning
· Knowledge of high-volume fabrication manufacturing
· Proficiency with CAD Software
· Experience with statistical analysis
· Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
· Experience performing tolerance stack-up analysis
