Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace.
Comply with all Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements and goals. Provide information and materials to these divisions as necessary to ensure adequate and legal documentation.
Lead a team of Custodians.
Train others in proper cleaning techniques.
Assign custodians to specific areas, periodically inspect their work, and hold them accountable for work that is not completed to standard.
Keep buildings in clean and orderly condition.
Perform heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, latrines and shower, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, removing trash, cleaning laundry rooms, washing machines and dryers.
Report or notify Supervisor of need for repairs.
Gather and empty trash.
Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
Vacuum, steam-clean, or shampoo carpets.
Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
Notify Supervisor concerning the need for major repairs.
Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
Clean and restore building interiors damaged by coffee stains, dust, fingerprint or water, using commercial cleaning equipment.
Follow procedures for the safe and effective use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
Drive vehicles required to travel to cleaning work, including vans, small trucks, ATV’s or golf carts.
Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks.
Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
