Boeing Global Services located in Long Beach, CA, is currently seeking a Senior Manager to lead the Boeing Global Services (BGS) Commercial Modifications and Freighter Conversions Safety, Compliance, and Performance team.
As an SC&P Leader, you will be responsible for working cross-functionally to ensure the Boeing Safety Management System is implemented into Boeing culture. Understanding the complex integration of airplane systems, human factors, and airplane integration into the operational environment is required in this role. This role also requires knowledge of safety in design, development and release processes. You will have the opportunity to work independently while leading teams tasked with evaluating potential product safety, system safety and certification issues, and making recommendations on behalf of the BGS Chief Engineer for product safety decisions. You will lead and manage the BGS Safety Review Board. This position offers exposure to all aspects of airplane modification and services including working with production and out of production Chief Program Engineers (CPE).

Position Responsibilities:
- Leads a team of safety and compliance focals for BGS Modifications and Conversions teams.
- Supports BGS safety and compliance priorities and integrate across the project and product value streams for safety process enhancements and implementation.
- Works closely with other engineering managers, program managers and Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) partners for safety management system growth and enhancements and tracks and raises safety and compliance related issues.
- Provide program cross-functional visibility and reporting for BCAB compliance performance to plan, quality, and process initiatives.
- Maintains regular operating rhythm with Boeing Organization Delegated Authority (ODA) to identify and propose improvement initiatives for certification and compliance actions.
- Supports monthly Boeing ODA Leadership meetings as CPE delegate and collaborate with FAA and Regulatory Administration to elevate program-critical issues
- Leads/supports Notice of Non-Compliance (NNC) review board on potential non-compliances and ensure timely completion of potential NNC through formal notification submittal
- Position requires close coordination and teaming with other internal and external Engineering Functional teams across Southern California, the Boeing Enterprise and global engineering partners.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
- 5+ years of experience leading or managing an engineering organization.
- Experience in influencing and building strong relationships with stakeholders and senior leaders across functions
- 5+ years of experience working on commercial or military aircraft programs
- 10+ years of experience working in a professional environment
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally (engineering, program management, modification team, and/or finance) and across multiple business units (BDS, BGS, BAO, etc.).
- Comfortable facilitating meetings and providing strategic direction and recommendations directly to senior leaders and executives.
- Experience executing strategies that drive employee engagement and inclusion
- Experience in mentoring, teaching and/or career development
- Knowledge in Aircraft Systems, Aircraft Structures, System Engineering, Project Management, Quality Management, and Program Management

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range: $212,500 -$287,500
