We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced communications professional to join a dynamic team within Caterpillar IT.
This position will report to the Caterpillar IT Division Communications Manager and play a key role in supporting strategic communications across the division and enterprise. Caterpillar IT is a global team that drives innovation and enables digital transformation across the enterprise, delivering technology solutions that power operations worldwide and equip employees with tools to help them unlock their full potential.
As a communicator in IT, you'll have the exciting opportunity to partner with senior leaders, including the Chief Information Security Officer, and business partners to craft compelling narratives that showcase our technological advancements and drive awareness across the enterprise. You’ll lead and execute strategic communications initiatives that support business priorities, drive employee engagement and enable change. You’ll also collaborate with the Caterpillar IT communications team to ensure consistency and impact across channels and audiences.
What You Will Do:
- Lead and execute innovative communications strategies that align stakeholders and advance business priorities across high-velocity technology priorities, including cybersecurity and AI.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on communications and change management strategies
- Prepare executive presentations, speeches, talking points, and other materials for internal and external audiences
- Lead communication planning and execution for organizational changes, employee engagement initiatives, and leadership messaging
- Translate complex concepts into clear, audience-appropriate communications for enterprise-wide stakeholders
- Plan and execute employee meetings, events, and campaigns
- Embrace technology and innovation to reach and engage employees in new and creative ways
- Analyze performance, monitor communications metrics to refine strategies and continuously improve engagement
What You Will Have:
- Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing and/or equivalent experience in corporate communications with proficiency in digital communication tools such as the Microsoft Office Suite
- Copywriting and Editing: Ability to write, review and edit texts and documents to promote marketing; experience with content creation, visual storytelling, and basic video editing
- Interpersonal Relationships: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships across a matrixed organization; ability to collaborate and work with leaders and business partners
- Internal Communications: Knowledge of techniques and media for internal communications; ability to produce and distribute news, newsletters and other communications materials targeted at the employees; strong change management communication skills.
- Planning and Organizing: Knowledge and ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way; ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment; proactive mindset, sense of urgency, and ability to work independently
- Establishing and Maintaining Trust: Ability to develop trusting relationships and provide solicited, respected and valued perspectives to senior leaders on strategic communications
- Communicating for Impact: Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills

- The primary location for this position is Irving, TX

Summary Pay Range:
$112,710.00 - $169,060.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
