About the Role:
The Design Engineer designs, develops, builds, and implements new products, components, or technologies.
Additional Information:
- Travel: up to 10%
- This role is based out of Fort Worth, TX
- This position requires working onsite five days a week
What You Will Do:
- Research new materials, processes, and competitive products; apply findings to concept development and design trade studies
- Organize, coordinate, and execute prototype builds, testing, and analysis; document results and recommend design improvements
- Develop and document functional requirements; translate requirements into detailed design documentation (e.g., drawings, specifications, and design reports)
- Create and update CAD models, drawings, and related engineering documentation; ensure configuration accuracy and revision control
- Support buy/build analyses for product components, including technical input to sourcing decisions
- Assist supply specialists and buyers with supplier development and supplier performance by providing technical guidance, clarifying requirements, and supporting issue resolution
- Participate in proposal preparation, cost estimates, and technical reports as needed
- Provide technical support to drafting and testing specialists; coordinate activities to meet schedule, quality, and documentation expectations
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Materials Science or equivalent from an accredited program
- Two or more years of practical experience in an engineering or STEM related field outside of academia
- Working knowledge of computer-aided design and engineering tools used to create and modify 2D/3D models, drawings, and specifications
- Ability to plan and support product/prototype testing and interpret results to improve design performance and reliability
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting supplier development and performance (e.g., technical reviews, capability assessments, issue resolution)
- Experience with product design in a manufacturing environment, including design-for-manufacturability considerations
- Experience building and testing prototypes and contributing to structured test plans and documentation
- Familiarity with 3D modeling software, specifically SolidWorks
- Mechanical and electrical design aptitude including sensors and software

- Technical Excellence: Applies technical standards and procedures to deliver high-quality products, technologies, and services; supports others in resolving technical issues
- Computer-Aided Design & Engineering: Produces, analyzes, and updates design drafts, schematics, and 2D/3D views to support development and release
- Product Design & Development: Contributes from concept through production, including testing and refinement of new product designs.
- Communication: Shares information clearly, adapts message to audience, and incorporates feedback to improve outcomes
- Managing Multiple Priorities: Adjusts to changing demands while maintaining productivity across concurrent assignments
Summary Pay Range:
$89,210.00 - $133,810.00
