As the Senior Accounting Manager for the OEM Solutions accounting team, you will provide financial analysis and counsel to business leadership within OEM Solutions business unit and Resource Industries Operations & Products. Incumbent provides supervision and technical guidance to a small accounting team, that is on an exciting journey to revitalize processes and achieve greater reporting insights.
What You Will Do:
- Development and oversight of OEM Solutions monthly closing, reporting and analysis processes
- Provide support for Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls and adherence to all relevant Compliance topics
- Providing leadership and analysis to the annual business plan and rolling business model quarterly forecasts through the establishment of assumptions and targets, and ongoing analysis and reporting comparisons to target
- Instrumental in the integration of OEM Solutions financials into the larger corporate data streamlining projects to drive simplification and reporting mechanization and capability
- Presentation and explanation of financial results and scorecard metrics to senior management
- Provide guidance for annual SCR and Normals processes
- Provide support and guidance for Invoicing activities under the responsibility of OEM Solutions
- Manages a team and their related workload, prioritizes projects, assigns and reviews work, and controls the daily operating environment.
- Evaluates and reports on staff performance, participates in employee selection, provides career guidance and training direction, complies with personnel practices, and promotes team rewards and successes.

- Financial Analysis: Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.
- Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
- Planning: Tactical, Strategic: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
- Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
- Managing People: Knowledge of processes involved in managing people; ability to lead successful teams, and diligently address issues related to performance and conflicts at the workplace.
- Judgment and Decision Making: Knowledge of the decision-making process; ability to carefully evaluate the impact of emerging business situations and choose the best path forward communicating actions and activities that maximize organizational performance.
What Will Set You Apart:
- Demonstrated ability to learn and explain complex accounting methods
- Comprehensive knowledge of Caterpillar business model/methodology and reporting Segments
- Deep understanding of Caterpillar’s financial systems and transactions, with experience in SAP
- Prior experience with advanced reporting tools such as Power BI
- Proven record of success and accomplishments in previous staff positions, demonstrating the ability to lead through change with vision
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong analytical, process improvement and problem-solving skills
- High level of initiative, leadership, accountability and good judgment

Summary Pay Range:
$128,470.00 - $192,710.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
