Caterpillar has an exciting opportunity for an experienced communications professional to join the Americas Distribution Services Division (ADSD) as a senior communications specialist. This position will report to the ADSD communications manager and is part of Caterpillar’s Digital, Technology & Distribution segment. The ADSD communication team helps drive awareness, understanding, adoption and execution of Caterpillar’s strategy by advising business leaders, sharing impactful stories, crafting clear messages and building meaningful connections.
Caterpillar’s Distribution Services organization depends on clear, consistent, high-quality communication with dealer leadership. This role owns the end-to-end dealer executive communications process—our primary channel to dealer principals—ensuring priority messages reach dealers with clarity, consistency and the right governance. You’ll also drive process excellence across dealer communications by documenting standard work, building reusable tools/templates, and coaching internal partners who need to reach dealers.
What you will do:
- Own dealer executive communications, including strategy, development, governance and execution
- Manage other dealer communications in partnership with the global distribution services teams
- Provide strategic communications support for the Distribution Center of Excellence and its vice president
- Manage ADSD content for the quarterly dealer newsletter, ensuring a strong connection to Caterpillar’s Strategic Plan for Profitable Growth
- Develop, own and execute comprehensive communications plans to drive Commercial Excellence, including messaging and materials that inform, inspire and align employees to business strategy and customer objectives
- Lead strategic communications initiatives that elevate awareness of key efforts that impact dealers, distribution services and employees
- Document dealer communication processes, templates, best practices and standard work, serving as a trusted adviser to other communicators, employees and teams that need to reach dealers
- Apply Lean principles and process excellence to enhance quality and accelerate delivery, ensuring streamlined, defect-free, high-impact communications
- Uphold brand standards by maintaining a consistent tone and style across all content, adhering to brand guidelines and voice
- Analyze performance, monitor communications metrics to refine strategies and continuously improve engagement and impact
What you have:
- Education/experience: College or university degree in communications, marketing, or a related field and/or considerable job-related experience in corporate communications with proficiency in digital communication tools such as the Microsoft Office Suite
- Planning and organizing: Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan, prioritize and execute multiple projects independently and with urgency; skilled at simplifying complex ideas, anticipating stakeholder needs and adjusting messaging to drive clarity and alignment
- Outcomes focus: Big picture thinking and planning; ability to apply organizational acumen and align messaging and deliverables to key customer objectives and strategies
- Communicating for impact: Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills; develops a clear and complete understanding of needs through careful listening, probing, reflecting, and summarizing
- Copywriting and editing: Strong content creation skills and the ability to edit for various audiences with a relentless commitment to quality
- Interpersonal relationships: Outstanding relationship management; skilled at establishing and maintaining trust with customers, clients, peers and vendors

Summary Pay Range:
$112,710.00 - $169,060.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
