Job Summary
The Program Manager leads the execution of complex Advanced Electrical Services (AES) switchgear programs, driving results from order entry through commissioning and project closeout. This role provides hands-on leadership to a high-performing project management team, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and aligned with customer and business expectations. The leader brings deep technical understanding of paralleling switchgear systems and applies that expertise to guide cross-functional teams across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and field operations. Acting as the primary escalation point, this role owns financial, commercial, contractual, and technical outcomes while proactively managing risk. Success requires a customer-focused mindset, strong people leadership, and the ability to translate strategy into disciplined execution.
What You Will Do
Lead, hire, develop, and manage the AES Project Management team, setting clear priorities and providing ongoing coaching and mentorship
Own the overall program governance for AES projects, including standards, tools, execution rigor, and continuous improvement of project management practices
Direct and oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of large, complex switchgear and AES projects from order entry through commissioning and closeout
Provide escalation leadership for financial, commercial, contractual, and technical risks, ensuring timely resolution and alignment with business objectives
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, test, logistics, and field service teams to drive integrated project execution
Apply advanced project management tools and processes, including project chartering, network diagrams, schedule compression, and integration planning
Partner with customers and dealers to implement disciplined project management practices and clarify roles, responsibilities, and execution expectations
Manage commercial aspects of AES projects while supporting technical direction across internal and external project teams

Involves key stakeholders in upfront planning efforts.
Enlists formal and informal network contacts to improve collaboration among teams
Generates "win-win" strategies to gain support for key initiatives from others across boundaries.

Additional Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in project or program management
Demonstrated ability to effectively plan, prioritize, and organize work to drive disciplined execution across complex initiatives
Demonstrated strength in mediation, negotiation, and stakeholder management
Proven ability to structure and lead complex project execution across multiple disciplines
Experience leading teams in environments with strong technical, commercial, and customer-facing components
Additional Information
This position requires the candidate to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office.
Travel up to 10% is possible.
Relocation is available for this position.

Summary Pay Range:
$147,760.00 - $221,640.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
