The Resource Industries Sales, Services and Technology (RISST) division is one of the most exciting, global and customer-focused organizations across Caterpillar. We are responsible for the go-to-market strategy for surface and underground mining, and we are focused on delivering growth by solving our customers toughest challenges.
The Senior Sales & Communications Consultant plays a pivotal role on the Resource Industries Sales, Services, and Technology team, serving as a trusted communications partner to the Americas sales organization. In this role, you will shape and deliver clear, compelling messaging that supports sales execution and drives profitable growth. Working closely with cross‑functional sales teams and business leaders, you will translate commercial priorities into impactful narratives, provide strategic guidance, and ensure consistent, effective communication across key initiatives. You will build strong relationships with decision‑makers, spark creative thinking, and manage a wide range of sales communications—ensuring messages are aligned, timely, and designed to influence outcomes.
What you will do:
Regional Engagement & Enablement
Partner with regional sales managers and go‑to‑market (GTM) teams to support critical deliverables for customer‑facing engagements.
Develop and deliver clear communications that highlight opportunities for profitable growth and advance divisional initiatives.
Strategy Development
Collaborate with cross‑functional subject matter experts to develop effective messaging strategies that support priority initiatives.
Create and deploy core messaging aligned with the regional sales strategy to ensure consistency, clarity, and impact
Organizational Excellence
Lead and facilitate team meetings, ensuring alignment, clarity, and consistency of key messaging
Drive process excellence through disciplined organizational and communication practices, including standard work, governance, and effective management processes.
What skills you will have:
Effective Communications: Extensive experience as a Communications, Marketing or Sales professional supporting brand, business, and stakeholder objectives. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft clear, compelling messages for diverse audiences.
Customer Focus: Proven ability to build trust and collaborate effectively with sales leaders and cross‑functional teams.
Creativity: Strong background in creating engaging content, including presentations, executive communications, and marketing materials.
Relationship Management: Strong relationship‑building skills to serve as a trusted connector between sales teams, leadership, and internal functions.
Business Development: Proven ability to identify new prospects, expand customer relationships, and uncover incremental sales opportunities that drive growth and strengthen market presence.
Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Ability to accurately analyze situations, evaluate alternatives, and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment, while applying a creative mindset to uncover new approaches and solutions.
Top candidates will have:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communication, or Marketing.
Experience in the mining industry.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word.
Strong presentation skills.
Additional Information:
The primary work location for this role is Tucson, AZ, with a requirement to work on-site full-time at a Caterpillar facility.
This position may require 15 % travel.
Domestic relocation assistance is available.

Summary Pay Range:
$128,470.00 - $192,710.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
