As Gearbox Gear&Shaft Design Engineer you will use your expertise to develop and execute objectives for self and others, solve problems and have the ability to affect short-term and some long-term business goals for GE Catalyst engine (Civil and Military). You will be accountable for all New Product Introduction process from concept design to product detailed definition, certification and production support.
You will report to Catalyst LCE Gearbox Design Leader within Catalyst Product Line engineering section.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
Use your technical knowledge on gears system for aeronautical gearbox
Capture system requirements, flow-down to components definition identifying relevant validation needs
Contribute to identify and develop design solutions scoring them and down selecting the optimal one to achieve product performance/cost/weight
Contribute to identify and develop design solutions scoring them and down selecting the optimal one to achieve product performance/cost/weight
Coordinate and perform design and analysis activities on the components
Manage technical documents relative to the components design according to engineering policies and procedures (drawings, presentations as well as analysis reports)
Contribute and participate as a presenter in technical and program reviews
Perform and support source technological substantiation process as design owner and non-conformances assessments as Avio Aero MRB approver
Proactively support and coordinate activities with Manufacturing/Sourcing/Quality and Suppliers to implement product improvements (e.g. concurrent design, cost-out activities)
Support activities related to development findings, components performance and investigations (e.g. test requests and data postprocess, laboratories investigation)
Support Certification activities
Qualifications/Requirements
Master's Degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering
Knowledge of Gearbox Design principles
Experience with CAD tools (e.g. Unigraphics NX) and ability to adapt to in-house analysis tools
Knowledge of manufacturing processes for rotating components
Clear thinking, diligent approach, target oriented
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Fluent English and Italian knowledge
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Work Visa, according to local regulation, is required
