Staff Program Manager, Body Controls Choreography
Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Technical Innovation Center (Warren, MI), or Milford Proving Ground (Milford, MI) three times per week, at minimum. This position can be located at either of these locations.

The Role
As a Staff Program Manager in the Body Software PMO , you will lead cross‑functional coordination across Body, Platform, Mechatronics, Hardware, and Infotainment teams to ensure seamless execution of Body-related software and system content. You will partner closely with the product quad [Design, Engineering, Product, and Program Management] to drive integrated plans, enable key technical discussions, and deliver high-quality program outcomes.
In this role, you will be primarily aligned to products and features requiring choreography of various interior and exterior body controls to deliver immersive in-cabin experiences and exciting vehicle approach choreographies. Such products include (not an extensive list): wellness modes, pet mode, car wash mode, and entertainment modes. You will drive intensive cross-functional collaboration and broad, systematic management across domains, organizations, and systems to ensure these products are conceived, integrated, and validated as cohesive end-to-end experiences.
What You’ll Do

Build and maintain operational plans, track milestones, and proactively manage risks to ensure on-time delivery across all teams for Body Choreography deliverables.

Drive alignment across product quads and support vehicle launch deliverables, issue resolution, and cross-team integration.

Lead adoption of tools and operational rhythms (e.g., Jira Align Cloud, Jira).

Conduct readiness reviews, launch syncs, and executive-level reporting leveraging PMO dashboards.

Forecast resources, manage program risks, and ensure safety-critical software development compliance.

Provide leadership with insights on dependencies, trade-offs, and overall program health.

Facilitate regular syncs to ensure clarity on current priorities and upcoming initiatives.

Travel between Toronto, Canada and Mountain View, California as needed (2–3x/year).
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field, or equivalent experience

8+ years of experience in Program Management or Engineering

5+ years managing complex software or systems programs through full development-to-launch cycles

Direct experience with Body systems (Cabin Thermal, Lighting & Visibility, Vehicle Access) in engineering or program management

Proven ability to align cross-functional teams across product, engineering, supply chain, and operations

Experience influencing within matrixed organizations with strong executive presence

Expertise in Agile and Waterfall methodologies; proficiency with JAC, JIRA, Confluence, Smartsheet or similar tools

Exceptional technical and non-technical communication skills with ability to present data-driven insights to leadership

Demonstrated success operating in complex automotive systems environments

Ability to drive a motor vehicle regularly

Ability to travel (2 – 3x/year)

Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field

Experience with Platform engineering (Electrical Hardware, Chassis Software, Low Voltage, Mechatronics Infrastructure)

Background in IVI, Infotainment, or automotive interface software/hardware integration

Understanding of Software-Defined Vehicle architectures (software, electrical, communications)

Experience in technical program management within R&D, manufacturing, or automotive product development (Trailering experience a plus)

Ability to scale processes and operational systems to support evolving technology roadmaps

Familiarity with systems engineering, validation cycles, and automotive safety standards
Company Vehicle: Upon successful completion of a motor vehicle report review, you will be eligible to participate in a company vehicle evaluation program, through which you will be assigned a General Motors vehicle to drive and evaluate. Note: program participants are required to purchase/lease a qualifying GM vehicle every four years unless one of a limited number of exceptions applies.
