Role summary:As a Senior Data Scientist at Walmart, you will leverage advanced analytical techniques and programming expertise to develop, validate, and deploy scalable data models that drive strategic business decisions. About the team:The Content Intelligence team at Walmart - VIZIO specializes in delivering personalized experiences to millions of customers through advanced AI and machine learning models. The team consists of collaborative data scientists and machine learning engineers skilled in statistics, recommendation systems, natural language processing, and artificial intelligence. They focus on designing innovative solutions that enhance customer engagement by providing relevant recommendations. This team values technical expertise, effective communication, and a commitment to continuous improvement, working together to apply cutting-edge methods and tools to solve complex business challenges and drive impactful results.
What you'll do:
- Identify and source relevant data from multiple business domains, ensuring data quality and suitability for analysis.
- Develop, test, and deploy advanced analytical models using statistical and machine learning techniques to solve complex business problems.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into data-driven solutions aligned with strategic objectives.
- Perform model validation, tuning, and performance assessment to ensure accuracy and scalability in production environments.
- Create clear, insightful data visualizations and presentations to communicate findings and influence decision-making.
- Mentor junior team members on analytical methods, coding best practices, and business context understanding.
What you'll bring:
- Extensive experience in data science and advanced statistical methods to develop and validate analytical models.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, and Java for code development, testing, and model deployment.
- Strong knowledge of machine learning techniques, including feature selection, tuning, and multistage model assessment.
- Expertise in data visualization tools and best practices to effectively communicate complex data insights.
- Understanding of data ecosystems, data quality standards, and scalable data storage solutions.
- Ability to translate business requirements into data-driven solutions aligned with strategic objectives.
- Experience mentoring junior associates and collaborating cross-functionally to deliver impactful business results.

Seattle, Washington US-11573: The annual salary range for this position is $108,000.00 - $216,000.00
Denver, Colorado US-11581: The annual salary range for this position is $99,000.00 - $198,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Option 3 - 5 years' experience in an analytics or related field.
