What You Will Do
The GSDP Manager is a
senior Supplier Quality Engineering role responsible for applying advanced quality engineering principles and methodologies to
support supplier performance, product reliability, and issue resolution to support India Pune plant.
This role focuses on
hands-on supplier quality execution, problem solving, process validation, and cross-functional technical support, ensuring supplier quality outcomes meet established product and operational requirements.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
Supplier Qualification & Systems
- Audit new suppliers through SOA supplier operational assessment, participate sourcing decisions, approve / reject new suppliers through like the Blossom system.
APQP / NPI / Launch Support
- Support the RCLP (Rapid Closed Loop Process) through hands-on execution of:
- On-Site Operational Assessments
- Supplier Safe Launch
- PPAP approvals
- Participation in cross-functional project teams
- Facilitate and support consistent application of APQP methodology with Manufacturing and Engineering organizations for supplier-related activities.
Problem Solving & Corrective Actions
- Lead to resolve major supplier issues that occurred in Pune plant and major warranty and field quality issues.
- Apply advanced problem-solving tools (8D, DMAIC, statistical analysis, root cause analysis) and support escalation through the MQR (Management Quality Review) process.
- Verify and validate the effectiveness of supplier corrective and preventive actions.
Supplier Performance Management & Supplier Development
- Lead Supplier Performance Evaluation through quarterly scorecards; drive improvement actions for underperforming suppliers.
- Lead and support cross-functional supplier improvement projects, focusing on root cause elimination and preventive actions.
- Develop supplier quality roadmaps based on on-site assessments and performance data.
- Apply standard and advanced supplier quality engineering tools to support India Pune plant.
- Support supplier quality activities across new product development (NPD) and serial production.
- Perform On-Site Operational Assessments, QBBP Process Audits, and supplier re-qualifications per defined schedules.
Supplier Engagement & Capability Building
- Develop and execute Supplier Engagement Schedules aligned with product, procurement, and manufacturing requirements.
- Train key suppliers and project team members in:
- APQP / PPAP
- Quality tools
- Problem-solving methodologies
Compliance & Culture
- Act as a role model for integrity, safety, continuous improvement, diversity & inclusion, and strong cross-functional teamwork.
- Perform other quality engineering–related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
What we look for
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent manufacturing-related experience.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in a manufacturing or supplier quality environment.
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- APQP / PPAP
- 8D / DMAIC problem solving
- Lean Manufacturing principles
- Statistical analysis and quality tools
- Familiarity with HVAC products and manufacturing processes, including but not limited with PCBA, motor, sheet metal, copper fittings, valve, heat exchangers..etc
- Strong communication, facilitation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Fluent in English and Mandarin.
- Proactive, result-oriented, open-minded, and comfortable working in a multi-cultural environment.
- Willingness to travel 30%–50%, including international travel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Six Sigma (Green Belt / Black Belt) or Lean Manufacturing certification.
- ASQ SQE or equivalent quality certification.
- Experience acting as a Lead SQE / Technical Mentor, rather than people manager.
- Prior exposure to global supplier quality systems and audits.
