Description:You will be the Quality Engineer Staff for the Quality Engineering Team. Our team is responsible for leading Tiger Team efforts for the Precision Strike Missile (PrSM) production, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring aerospace quality standards across Lockheed Martin sites and suppliers.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Quality Engineer Staff you will be responsible for overseeing quality processes, coordinating cross‑functional teams, and supporting hybrid on‑site/remote operations.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Lead Tiger Team investigations to resolve production issues.
- Develop and execute continuous improvement projects.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with AS9100, NADCAP, and other aerospace standards.
- Conduct supplier audits and support travel to production sites as needed.
- Maintain documentation and reporting for quality metrics.

Basic Qualifications:Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a STEM related field with some professional experience or equivalent combined education and experience.
Knowledge of quality standards and methodologies: MIL‑STD‑1913, Six Sigma, Lean, Statistical Process Control (SPC).
Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and technical requirements.
Proficiency with measurement equipment (CMM, calipers, laser trackers, gauges) and data‑analysis tools (Minitab, JMP, Excel).
Proficiency with root‑cause analysis techniques (5 Why, Fishbone, Fault Tree). Lean Practitioner.
Experience with facilitation of Root Cause and Corrective Action in a cross functional team.
Familiarity with manufacturing or production documentation and failure reporting.
Strong written/oral communication; capable of presenting to diverse teams from other Business Areas and Senior Leadership.
Experience in disposition of non-conforming products.
Proficient skill level with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Effective interpersonal skills, including team building and collaboration.
Desired Skills:Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt.
Apriso application experience.
Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Experience developing quality standards, methods, work instructions and procedures for the inspection of manufactured products.
Advanced understanding of quality engineering principles specific to high‑rate production.
Ability to effectively communicate and interface with fast paced teaming environment.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
