Description:Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Strategic Transactions Analyst to join our team in Littleton, CO! This position will serve as the primary driver for identifying, evaluating, and executing strategic partnership opportunities within Lockheed Martin Space. This position will be responsible for developing the strategic rationale and business case, completing a technology assessment, presenting the investment thesis for each proposed partnership, and driving the agreement to closure. This role blends technical understanding, financial analysis, and cross functional collaboration to ensure that all partnership initiatives align with Lockheed Martin Space’s growth objectives and portfolio strategies.
In addition to leading the partnership deal flow, this position supports the broader strategic assessments for other Merger & Acquisition and Venture Capital activities within the organization. This position is ideal for strategic thinkers with an investor’s mindset and a closer’s execution focus. Key Responsibilities -
Opportunity Identification - Conduct market assessments to surface high impact partnership prospects (e.g., strategic cooperation agreements, joint ventures, co development, M&A, licensing). - Maintain a pipeline of potential partners and continuously assess fit with each organization's portfolio strategy.
Project Management & Execution - Lead cross functional project teams (engineering, business development, finance, supply chain, legal, etc.) to drive partnership milestones to closure
Stakeholder Communication - Prepare executive decks, investment memos, and senior leader presentations that clearly articulate strategic rationale, financial impact, and risk considerations.
Strategic Insight & Continuous Improvement - Analyze portfolio strategies to identify technology gaps and refine partnership selection criteria. - Stay current on emerging technologies, market trends, and regulatory developments that could affect partnership strategy.
Due Diligence & Financial Modeling - Build and maintain detailed valuation models (DCF, comparable company, merger modeling) to quantify expected returns, synergies, and risk. - Coordinate technical, legal, and operational due diligence activities; synthesize findings into clear, actionable recommendations.

Basic Qualifications:• Bachelors degree.
• Minimum 5 years of related experience of finance, project management, business development OR transaction oriented roles (investment banking, consulting, transaction advisory services, or related)
• Strong technical financial modeling skills and
analytical skills (Excel, PitchBook, CapIQ, or equivalent); ability to translate complex data into clear strategic recommendations.
• Demonstrated experience in the identification, qualification, diligence, and execution of mergers and acquisitions, partnerships, OR venture capital transactions.
• Experience using PowerPoint to communicate investment thesis, deal rationale, or other complex ideas to executive level audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple high-priority initiatives in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment

Desired Skills:• A Masters degree in a related discipline
• Direct experience in Mergers & Acquisitions, Venture Capital investing and/or strategy consulting
• Experience working at an investment banking firm, venture capital fund, strategic consultancy, or related
• Experience with corporate divestitures or acquisition integration
• Space or Aerospace & Defense sector experience.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $104,500 - $184,115. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
