Role Overview
This opportunity is open to University placement year students who are seeking practical, hands-on experience within a professional marketing and communications environment.
As a Marketing Intern, you will support internal communications, integrated campaigns and events across the UK business, working with Divisional teams and Corporate functions. You will contribute to activity that helps engage employees, support business priorities and strengthen how information flows across the organisation.
This role is suited to someone who is organised, digitally confident and motivated to develop core skills in project management, stakeholder coordination and modern marketing practice, with the potential to form a strong foundation for future early career or graduate roles.
Key Responsibilities
Internal Communications
- Support delivery of internal communications that reinforce business priorities and employee engagement
- Assist with content coordination across platforms such as our intranet and email
- Help gather updates, success stories and content inputs from across divisions
Campaign & Divisional Support
- Provide coordination support to integrated marketing and communications campaigns
- Help track actions, timelines and dependencies across multiple workstreams
- Maintain campaign trackers and status updates to support effective delivery as part of programme management
Events Support
- Support planning and delivery of internal and external events, including preparation of materials, logistics and follow-up activity
- Assist in capturing outcomes and insights to support continuous improvement
Project Management & Ways of Working
- Apply a structured, organised approach to managing tasks and deadlines
- Support coordination across stakeholders to ensure activity stays aligned and on track
- Contribute to improving templates, processes and ways of working
Digital Tools, AI & Design
- Confidently use Microsoft 365 tools, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Teams and SharePoint
- Use AI tools responsibly to support drafting, summarisation, research and productivity
- Create clear, professional presentations and simple visual materials aligned to brand guidelines
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Currently studying a marketing related degree at University
- Available to work a full time role, 37.5 hours a week for 12 months as part of a University placement year
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Clear, professional written communication
- Confidence using digital tools, particularly Microsoft PowerPoint and Teams
- Interest in AI enabled ways of working
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- A proactive, collaborative approach to working with others
Desirable
- Exposure to marketing, communications, campaigns or events
- Basic design or visual presentation capability
- Interest in public sector, technology, defence or infrastructure environments

Where will I be based?
We are recruiting this role for our Farnborough office.
We offer a hybrid and dynamic working environment meaning that you can split your time between the office and at home, although we will encourage you to come into the office on occasions to enable you to develop and grow and collaborate with your teams.

What is next?
Our start date for the programme is 21st September 2026 where you will have 1 week of onboarding with the rest of the Early Careers cohort. We aim to contact you within 2 weeks of your application submission to advise if you have been selected for the next stage of the interview process, a video interview with the Early Careers Team. If successful, you will then be invited to attend a 2nd video interview with the Marketing Manager.

Pay Range:
£23,000.00-£27,000.00
