Description:Determine inspection operations by directive, preliminary engineering, sketches, blueprints, specifications and Standard Practice, To verify and interpret data printouts to verify configuration and other pertinent specifications are acceptable. Verify installation and precision mating/fitting which have been based on these layouts for satisfactory workmanship, functioning and completion. Inspect in-process and completed detail parts, and paint to insure quality requirements are met.
Inspects and approves acceptable parts and inspects/accepts rejected items after rework or repair. Completes or approves records of operations performed and maintains inspection reports and records as required. May perform surveillance inspection, material review work and other related inspection assignments incidental to the primary duties described herein.
May be required to operate electronic data entry, storage, processing and/or retrieval equipment as a routine part of accomplishing their normal job assignments.
This occupation requires the inspection of in-process fabrication of detail parts, completed assemblies, made from fiberglass, honeycomb core, graphite composites and metal details, and other related materials before and after bonding (excludes tools).This occupation requires the inspection of aerospace parts, space missile parts, assemblies, kits, spares, aerospace ground equipment, mobile training units, industrial equipment, subsystems, explosive and dangerous articles, GFP/GFAE, crates, boxes, special shipping requirements, railroad and truck loading, cleaning processes, preservation methods, unit packaging, marking and materials used in packing and processing to determine if items to be shipped are in accordance with Customer contractual requirements.This occupation requires the receiving inspection of purchased parts, assemblies and materials including detailed analysis of accompanying shippers' certifications, etc., as required by Blueprints, Specifications and Purchase Orders.This occupation requires the inspection of fabricated aerospace parts and assemblies made from ferrous and non-ferrous sheet metal, extrusions, tubing and other materials; the inspection of aircraft parts, tools, assemblies, and materials during and after plating, doping, painting, and processing operations or treatments
Basic Qualifications:Must be able to:
· Read and interpret Engineering drawings
· Use precision measuring equipment
· Have a working knowledge of computer programs
such as Word, Excel, etc.
· Ability to pass Inspector Assessment.
Desired Skills:· Experience with Geometric Dimensioning &
Tolerancing (GD&T)
· Experience in inspection of paint processes, Low
Observable coatings familiarity is a plus.
· Experience working with materials and specification for
fabrication of aerospace parts
· Experience interpreting and applying various types of
engineering information
· Experience using light metrology equipment
· Previous Aviation experience

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
