Description:You will be the Systems Engineer Senior Staff (Level 5) - Advanced Programs for the Advanced Communications & Data Links Roadmap team which is responsible for shaping, crafting, and maturing the future architecture and capabilities related to communications and data links.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Systems Engineer Senior Staff (Level 5) - Advanced Programs you will be responsible for translating high‑level mission needs into detailed system and software requirements, guiding architecture development, and acting as the technical SME for the roadmap.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Define and develop system‑level requirements and architecture for advanced communications and data links.
- Decompose system architecture into software‑level specifications and ensure alignment with implementation teams.
- Mentor and support development teams as a subject‑matter expert and teacher.
- Collaborate with Roadmap Lead, Project Manager, Software Architect, and other stakeholders to drive roadmap objectives.
- Travel to customer facilities and Lockheed Martin sites approximately once per month to support integration and stakeholder engagement.

• Hardware Design experience
• Experience with systems architecture and digital hardware design
• Leadership experience
Desired Skills:• Ability to design and development Mission Systems (MS) hardware subsystem
• Experience with Electronics design, assembly, and checkout
• Demonstrated experience working through all phases of hardware development including platform integration/adoption
• Experience with managing supplier requirements and tracking supplier execution
• Ability to work with different engineering disciplines (software, systems, RF, networking, reliability, cybersecurity, etc.) to derive and decompose requirements
• Experience with Safety Critical system design characteristics
• Experience with VITA OpenVPX Family of Standards and/or SOSA Technical Standard
• Experience with Gigahertz microprocessors, FPGAs, DDR4 memory, flash memory, and high-density interconnect technologies.
• Familiarity with RF system design, including components, such as amplifiers, filters, and antennas
• Knowledge of the proposal process
• Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering Tools (Rhapsody, MagicDraw, Cameo Systems Modeler, etc.)
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
