The Professional Standards Leader leads a team that is responsible for driving (in conjunction with the field team), incremental and sustainable improvements in pharmacy and front store team performance across critical elements: 1) pharmacy regulatory compliance 2) patient safety 3) clinical and quality 4) pharmacy practice standards and 5) front store compliance. In this regard, this Leader is a trusted partner to the Division Vice Presidents and their teams to achieve these objectives.
This individual develops and leads a portfolio of programs that will mitigate significant fiduciary, regulatory, and reputational risk to the company while simultaneously supporting the provision of the highest standards of care to the patients and customers we serve. This Leader provides each Division Vice President a division specific assessment of risk and opportunities for each of the critical practice elements listed above, along with a recommended strategy and road map to address the items identified. Upon alignment with the Division Vice President, this Leader and their team will support the Region Directors in implementing the action plans through the District Leaders.
In additional to leading a highly skilled and specialized team to support this work, this Leader works cross-functionally across the
Enterprise with other internal business partners to enlist support and resources, as necessary. As an expert and key thought leader around pharmacy professional services and front store compliance, this dynamic Leader will represent CVS as needed in external forums, to include key meetings with regulators and regulatory boards, professional associations, and other industry events.
This individual is a key member of the Pharmacy Professional Services leadership team as well as the broader Store Operations team, and as such will collaborate with colleagues supporting other lines of business as well as our centers of excellence.
Required Qualifications
The successful candidate will be a proven leader that exhibits exceptionally strong analytical and strategic thinking and has an established track record of very effectively impacting and influencing stakeholders across a broad agenda of responsibilities.
- Pharmacy Degree: BS Pharm or Pharm D
- Currently licensed as a Registered Pharmacist
- 8+ years’ experience directly leading a team
- 8+ years’ experience working with business analytics, defining data needs, and interpreting reporting
- 8+ years’ experience of developing, implementing, and executing programs
- 5+ years’ experience as a Pharmacy Supervisor or District Leader for CVS Health, or similar field leadership role in another community pharmacy chain
- Ability and willingness to travel 20% - 30% of time
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Degree
- 10+ years’ experience of working in a strategy role or as a strategy consultant
- 10+ years’ directly leading a team
- 10+ years’ experience working with business analytics, defining data needs, and interpreting reporting
- 10+ years’ experience of developing, implementing, and executing programs
- Expert in pharmacy professional services with a thorough understanding of regulations and laws governing the practice of pharmacy
- Deep understanding of CVS pharmacy and front store standard operating procedures, workflow, and practice standards
- Excellent communication written and verbal communication skills; very strong interpersonal and presentation skills
- Strong executive presence; proven track record of impacting and influencing others
- Fluent use of commonly utilized Microsoft Office software applications (ex. Word, PowerPoint, Excel…)
Education
Pharmacy Degree: BS Pharm or PharmD
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$128,750.00 - $261,000.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
