Leidos is seeking Systems Integration and Test Engineers to join the Air Traffic Business Area within the Homeland Sector, supporting the development of next-generation flight service and air traffic systems. This work aligns with the FAA’s broader initiative to modernize legacy flight service capabilities, replacing aging infrastructure with scalable, cloud-based platforms designed to improve safety and operational efficiency, particularly in remote and high-dependency aviation environments. These efforts focus on delivering mission-critical, future-ready solutions that provide safety-critical flight services to the pilot community.

As a member of a Scaled Agile software development organization, you will contribute to the technical execution of a program that integrates proven, globally deployed technologies with modern cloud-native capabilities. You will work alongside cross-functional teams and technical leaders to deliver predictable outcomes in a highly regulated, safety-critical environment.
In this position, you will be responsible for integrating and testing software that provides flight planning and other services to the pilot community. This position supports government programs and requires the ability to obtain and maintain a favorable Public Trust investigation.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with System Engineering team to develop comprehensive integration and verification plans that map requirements to test cases, pass/fail criteria and traceability artifacts.
- Able to understand System Level Requirements and perform system interface checkouts
- Analyze identified issues in conjunction with System Engineering and Software in regard to developing solutions
- Learn system architecture, design, functions and capabilities to support the integration and test of the new capabilities and enhancements
- Design, develop, and execute test plans, test cases, and test procedures to verify software functionality, performance, and compliance with requirements
- Debug system level issues and provide detailed supporting data on identified issues
- Document and track system defects and verify fixes
- Perform testing in physical and virtual test labs to ensure the system, test procedure, and test inputs are prepared to execute with the customer present
- Execute manual and automated test procedures that verify the system is properly configured
- Coordinate activities, communication, and planning efforts with the customer and Leidos personnel
- Perform formal test execution with the customer and quality assurance organizations present
- Demonstrate test execution to the customer on a run for record to achieve customer acceptance of the content per release
- Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline with 9+ years of professional experience; or a master’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline with 7+ years of professional experience.
- Experience and familiarity with Agile methodology, principles, and tools
- Ability to obtain an SF-85P Public Trust clearance from the FAA customer.
- Experience in following a documented Integration and Test Development Process
- Experience in the use of UNIX and Linux operating systems
- Proficiency in building and maintaining automated test suites
- Strong integration skills with hands-on experience integrating large software complex systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to interface with internal and external customers
- US Citizenship
Desired Skills:
- Air Traffic Control and Flight Service Experience
- Knowledge of AI-assisted development workflows and tools (i.e. Claude Code, Codex, etc.)
- Knowledge of air traffic control systems, general aviation, and/or flight services
- Practical knowledge of FAA/DoD systems, technical policies, standards and orders

Pay Range:
Pay Range $107,900.00 - $195,050.00
