Description
The Global Supply Chain team is looking for a Materials Expeditor Intern to support in our Huntsville, AL office during the summer. The Intern will be responsible for supporting the material supply chain on multiple programs within the Leidos Defense sector. The Intern will work with programs in tracking material requirements and providing the necessary support of acquisition plans from start to finish. The Intern will be interfacing with suppliers, logistics, receiving, and strategic sourcing to ensure program milestones are met. The most successful candidate will have a desire to be a part of a team, enjoy hard work, and learn on the job from a team of talented professionals.

The Intern will be exposed to the challenges of working with such a wide variety of suppliers and learn how to deal with schedule slips and supplier performance challenges. The Intern will see how the complex relationship between internal (requisitioners, supply chain, manufacturing, and production planning) and external stakeholders (suppliers and customers) impacts the success of a program. Lastly, the Intern will have a chance to work collaboratively on a Global Supply Chain project with other Supply Chain Interns and present the findings.
