The Project Coordinator is a key member of the Amentum Projects and Construction team, supporting the successful delivery of a diverse range of projects. The role contributes to project execution by maintaining data, tracking progress, managing documentation, and assisting with forecasting and reporting. The Project Coordinator works closely with Project Managers, subcontractors, and a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
Reporting to the Project Support Supervisor, this position provides essential support to Project Managers and the broader Projects & Construction department. It is well suited to an individual with strong administrative or construction‑related experience who is seeking a pathway into project management
The ideal candidate is highly organised, detail‑focused, and capable of managing competing priorities. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively to support project objectives
This role offers exposure to multiple concurrent projects within the defence and construction sectors and provides a strong development pathway, including training, professional growth opportunities, and hands‑on project coordination experience..
Day shift – 5 days per week, 8 hours per day
Essential Responsibilities:
Project meeting coordination — Organise project meetings, prepare accurate minutes, identify action items, and ensure documentation meets required standards
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
The position is desk based and sedentary in nature, the ability to lift items up to 5kgs may be required occasionally and participating in Site walks occasionally
Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
Additional certifications such as CPR, First Aid, Confined Space, Working at Heights, Forklift Licence, or Elevated Work Platform
Security Clearance Required:
Minimum Active U.S. Secret or Australian Negative Vetting (NV1) equivalent Department of Defense Security Clearance and ability to maintain that clearance. Depending on ongoing mission needs and access the role requires, the candidate may be required to obtain a higher U.S. Top Secret or Australian Top Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) clearance.
