Overview
The Consumer Integrated Marketing team at Microsoft is seeking a
Creative Strategist to work across our portfolio of brands, spanning Copilot (AI companion), Windows, Surface devices, M365 and Edge. You will be naturally curious, an exceptional strategic thinker, with a keen eye on finding the insight/red thread that unlocks amazing creativity in our marketing.
The Creative Strategist is a critical role that acts as the intersection between the Product, Creative, Social, Creators, Web and Email, focusing on finding the product insight that unlocks great marketing for the billions of Microsoft consumers that use our products on any given day.
This role requires the ability to manage multiple projects at once, knowing the critical role the strategist plays in the creative process, and the ability to convey complex creative ideas and insights to a broad set of stakeholders, including senior leadership.
Responsibilities
- Partner closely with Creative Directors and Channel teams to inform the content strategy, strategic approach to the creative, and the best way to bring the strategy to life across multiple channels
- Surface emerging trends in online consumer behavior to teams, and ensure these inform the strategic approach
- Interpret quant and qual insights from a variety of sources, including close partnership with Analytics and channel teams, to develop new best practices into our strategy
- Articulate the strategic approach to a variety of stakeholders, championing the ‘why’ and the ‘how’ for our marketing approach
Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Economics, Public Relations, or related field AND 5+ years integrated marketing (e.g., digital, relationship, social media, campaign), event management, marketing strategy, business planning, marketing operations, or related work experience OR equivalent experience.
Additional Or Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Economics, Public Relations, or related field AND 3+ years integrated marketing (e.g., digital, relationship, social media, campaign), event management, marketing strategy, business planning, marketing operations, or related experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Economics, Public Relations, or related field AND 7+ years integrated marketing (e.g., digital, relationship, social media, campaign), event management, marketing strategy, business planning, marketing operations, or related experience OR equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated experience developing integrated creative platforms and translating them into digital creative deliverables.
- Knowledge of storytelling and narrative structure, including pacing, visual composition, audio elements, and core components of audio-visual content.
- Experience working collaboratively across teams and organizational boundaries, with the ability to build relationships and contribute to shared outcomes.
- Demonstrates a commitment to fostering an inclusive and respectful work environment.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly convey creative concepts and align them to business objectives.
Integrated Marketing IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $251,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $272,300 per year.
