Who we’re looking for
Toyota’s Supplier Management Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Supplier Operations Manager.
The primary responsibility of this role is to manage supplier partner operational performance by driving accountability, monitoring key metrics, and ensuring consistent execution against business expectations. This role partners across the organization identify improvement opportunities, strengthen supplier performance, and support operational excellence, continuous improvement, and service reliability.
The person in this role will support Supplier Management department's objective to strengthen supplier operational performance and drive continuous improvement across key business processes.
What you’ll be doing
- Oversee the day-to-day execution of administrative transactional work or operational strategies across third-party servicing relationships for assigned suppliers and lines of service.
- Partner with stakeholders to align supplier performance with business priorities
- Manage the performance management process for all assigned operations-based supplier relationships.
- Track KPIs, scorecards, and operational trends to drive accountability and improvement.
- Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions to close performance gaps.
- Standardize processes and controls to sustain consistent execution.
- Define service level agreements and negotiates contracts with prospective and existing suppliers.
- Drive cross-functional improvement initiatives using Kaizen and Toyota Way methods.
- Support readiness for new initiatives and high-risk operational processes.
- Lead and develop teams to strengthen overall performance.
What you bring
- Minimum 3+ years of experience managing vendor performance through KPIs, SLAs, scorecards, and governance frameworks (QBRs, MBRs), including driving corrective actions and continuous performance improvement or related 3 years customer experience, administrative services or collections operational management experience
- Demonstrated 3+ years of experience managing strategic supplier relationships, including contract interpretation, negotiations, and multi-vendor environments, with the ability to balance collaboration and accountability.
- Experience leveraging data and analytics to monitor supplier performance, identify trends, and drive fact-based decision-making, including dashboarding and reporting.
- Demonstrated operational discipline, execution excellence, and continuous improvement
Added bonus if you have
- Bachelor’s degree that provides a solid foundation in business, operations management, or a related field.
- Advanced degree or certifications in supply chain management, operations, or project management that deepen your expertise.
- Experience with workforce and demand management tools or methodologies.
- Experience leading transformation initiatives within outsourced or shared services environments (e.g., process re-engineering, automation/RPA, digital enablement, or operating model redesign).
- Experience in global BPO environments across multiple regions/time zones
