Systems Engineer (SETA)
As a part of KBR, you will work on some of the hardest problems in the Nation. You will collaborate with top experts in the industry and support some of the most critical national security missions.
In this Systems Engineering role, you will provide onsite advisory and analytical engineering support to senior government leadership on a high‑visibility mission. As a Systems Engineer, you will combine technical systems engineering expertise with programmatic insight to help government stakeholders understand system designs, assess risk, and make informed acquisition and mission decisions. Working hand‑in‑hand with the customer, you will directly influence mission success.

Work Environment
Location: On‑site – Chantilly, VA
Travel Requirements: Up to 20%
Working Hours: Standard, 40 hours/week
Key Responsibilities
Help contributing to trade studies, develop test and evaluation plans
Develop and deliver technical briefings, point papers, spreadsheets, and acquisition documentation used by senior leadership
Analyze system designs, risks, dependencies, and program impacts to support informed decision‑making
Communicate complex technical analysis clearly and concisely to government stakeholders
Propose program strategies, resolutions, and risk mitigation approaches across a diverse stakeholder community
Develop strategies in response to identified program risks and acquisition deficiencies
Provide coordination and documentation support for senior government leaders in a fast‑paced, high‑visibility environment
Required Qualifications
Clearance: Active TS/SCI
Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship required
Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering‑related field from an accredited institution
Experience:
Systems engineering, reliability engineering, or protection systems experience
Working knowledge of space and ground architectures
Ability to support senior stakeholders with high‑quality technical analysis and documentation
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with laser systems and laser safety is highly desired; reliability and mission assurance is also a plus
Background supporting protected systems or mission‑critical government programs
Experience operating in a senior‑level stakeholder or acquisition environment
