Description:You will be the Mechanical Engineering Deputy Lead for the GMLRS Franchise. Our team designs, builds, and sustains the Ground Based Mid Range System (GMLRS) rockets in Grand Prairie, TX and Camden, AR, delivering world class kinetic solutions for our customers.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Mechanical Engineering Deputy Lead you will share Technical Lead duties with the current Lead, act as a CAM authority, and contribute hands on expertise across hardware troubleshooting, risk management, and program capture activities. You will operate at the nexus of engineering, supplier management, and business development, driving the mechanical side of the franchise forward.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Lead the mechanical focused team in daily tasking, design reviews, and CAM performance.
• Perform root cause troubleshooting and disposition of hardware (MRBE) issues.
• Review and approve requirements, drawings, and GD&T specifications.
• Support program and technical reviews, preparing briefing material and white papers.
• Coordinate customer reviews, manage supplier technical inputs, and track schedule/risk items.
• Conduct trade studies, develop Basis of Estimate (BOE) models, and write proposal content for new business capture.
• Mentor junior engineers, assign work, and provide continuous feedback and career development coaching.
• Oversee recruitment, training, performance assessments, and salary planning for the team.
• Champion engineering best practices, affordability, and customer focused execution across the franchise.
• Travel to Camden, AR or supplier sites as needed (occasional).

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
Basic Qualifications:
- Candidate must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance
- Engineering team or IPT lead experience including task planning, budget management, subcontract management and/or management, subcontract management and/or employee development and mentoring
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware and follow a specification/drawing
- BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
