Your Role And Responsibilities
As an Associate on IBM's Corporate Development team, you will support senior associates and experienced deal professionals in executing high-impact transactions across acquisitions, divestitures, and minority investments. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Build and maintain financial models to evaluate acquisition targets, investment returns, and deal structuring scenarios
- Support due diligence processes by coordinating across legal, finance, tax, and business unit teams to surface key risks and insights
- Prepare executive-level presentations and investment memos for IBM's senior leadership and board
- Conduct industry and competitive research to identify and assess potential targets aligned with IBM's strategic priorities
- Track and manage deal timelines, workstreams, and deliverables to ensure execution stays on schedule
- Support post-close integration planning and monitoring of deal performance against projected outcomes
Required Technical And Professional Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Management, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related technical field
- 1 year or less of experience in investment banking
- Strong communication skills
- Expertise in financial modeling and forecasting with strong attention to detail
- Expert-level proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
