About the Role
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is seeking a Senior Data Center MEP PM to support the delivery of large-scale data center infrastructure in the Abilene/Shackelford, Texas area. This role will be part of the OCI Data Center Infrastructure Delivery organization and will help drive the successful execution of mission-critical mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems across hyperscale data center construction projects.
The Senior Data Center MEP Project Manager will work closely with internal Oracle teams, construction partners, developer-led construction teams, QA/QC oversight teams, design consultants, commissioning agents, contractors, vendors, and other key stakeholders to ensure that MEP scope is delivered safely, on schedule, within quality expectations, and aligned with Oracle’s infrastructure standards.
This role may be suited for candidates with either an electrical or mechanical background, with strong preference for experience managing electrical MEP systems in data center or mission-critical environments. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience supporting hyperscale data center construction and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, field-based environment.
The role is based in Abilene/Shackelford, Texas. Oracle will provide competitive relocation bonuses for eligible candidates.
Internal Responsibilities
The Senior Data Center MEP Project Manager will be responsible for supporting and overseeing MEP delivery activities throughout the construction lifecycle, including planning, construction execution, QA/QC coordination, commissioning readiness, turnover, and closeout.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide field-based project management support for MEP systems on hyperscale data center construction projects.
- Work closely with construction teams, developer representatives, QA/QC oversight teams, general contractors, trade partners, and vendors to monitor execution of MEP scope.
- Support delivery of electrical and/or mechanical systems, including power distribution, switchgear, UPS systems, generators, cooling systems, piping, controls, fire protection, and associated infrastructure.
- Track project schedule, milestones, constraints, risks, and dependencies related to MEP construction activities.
- Review and monitor installation quality, field progress, construction documentation, issue resolution, and punch-list closure.
- Partner with QA/QC teams to support inspections, documentation, non-conformance tracking, corrective actions, and quality verification.
- Coordinate with commissioning teams to ensure systems are installed, tested, and turned over in accordance with project requirements.
- Identify risks, blockers, design conflicts, constructability issues, and schedule impacts; escalate issues with clear recommendations.
- Support review of RFIs, submittals, change impacts, field directives, and technical coordination items.
- Participate in construction meetings, MEP coordination meetings, look-ahead planning sessions, QA/QC reviews, and commissioning readiness discussions.
- Maintain clear communication with Oracle stakeholders regarding project status, progress, risks, and critical issues.
- Promote a strong safety culture and support compliance with site safety expectations and construction best practices.
Help ensure data center infrastructure is delivered to Oracle’s performance, reliability, quality, and operational readiness standards.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in data center, hyperscale, mission-critical, industrial, or large-scale construction project delivery.
- Direct experience supporting MEP construction on data center or mission-critical infrastructure projects.
- Experience with electrical MEP systems such as medium-voltage distribution, switchgear, UPS, generators, transformers, power distribution, grounding, controls, and related systems.
- Mechanical background may also be considered with relevant data center MEP experience, including cooling, chilled water, CRAH/CRAC, piping, pumps, air handling, fire protection, or controls.
