Lead and manage software development activities from detailed requirements development through test and certification.

Lead a team of Engineers in complex avionics department, including design, test and certification.

Responsible for program performance for cognizant projects and tactical execution of day-to-day operations.

Ensure compliance to development processes and standard work requirements.

Assign technical resources to work assignments; select, onboard and training of new team members; and develop and provide technical coaching for team members.

Approve work scope for assigned portion of overall program.

Serve as the primary engineering focal point to customers.

Actively address employee performance and development issues.

Identify the necessary staff, facilities and equipment needed for successful execution of projects.

Will supervise 16 reports, including Senior Engineer, Software Engineering; Senior Principal Engineer, Software Engineering; Principal Engineer, Software Engineering, Co-Op Software Engineering; Principal Engineer, Software Engineering; Engineer I, Software Engineering; Engineer II, Software Engineering; and Principal Engineer, Systems Engineering.
Qualifications You Must Have

Must possess at least a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field and 10 years of progressive experience as a Software Engineer or related role in the Aerospace/Defense Industry. In the alternative, at least a master’s degree or its equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field and 7 years of experience as a Software Engineer or related role in the Aerospace/Defense Industry would be acceptable.

Must possess at least 4 years of experience with DO-178C certification.

Must possess at least 4 years of experience leading or contributing to avionics systems/software life-cycle activities, including requirements, architecture, design, model-based development, coding, integration, verification and validation, and system testing.

Must possess at least 4 years of experience working in or leading teams developing real-time embedded software applications using high-level programming languages such as C or C++.

Must possess at least 3 years of experience in project planning and execution leadership for moderate- to large-sized teams, delivering on cost, schedule, scope, and quality commitments.

The salary range is $176,238.00 to $251,600.00 USD per year. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
