Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Cashier to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service while efficiently handling transactions. This position requires a strong understanding of pharmacy operations, including medication administration and medical terminology. The Cashier will ensure that all customer interactions are positive and that all transactions are processed accurately.
Responsibilities
- Process customer transactions quickly and accurately using the point-of-sale system.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with their inquiries and needs.
- Maintain knowledge of pharmacy products and services to effectively communicate with customers.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions while ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Assist in managing inventory levels by restocking shelves as needed.
- Work collaboratively with pharmacy technicians and other staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Uphold cleanliness and organization in the cashier area to promote a welcoming environment for customers.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a cashier or customer service role is preferred.
- Familiarity with pharmacy operations, is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to provide patient care and service effectively.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail, and able to stand for entire shift.
- Must be able to pass any required background checks or screenings as per company policy. As well as a drug test within a short window of time.
- Will need to obtain a PA pharmacy technician trainee license, cost is approx $55, this process takes about 4 weeks to obtain.
- Must be 18 or older with a high school diploma or GED for PA licensing requirements to work in the pharmacy.
- Ability to close 2 evenings per week and work rotating weekends and holidays is required, most stores operational hours range from 8a-9p M-F and 9-6 weekends.
- Ability to travel to nearby stores for training or additional hours.
- Opportunity for Full-Time once training is completed.
