Seeking a senior staff-level engineer with expertise in datacenter platform firmware. This role
requires working across product, infrastructure, security and platform teams both within and external
to the company in a highly matrixed environment. You will be deeply hands-on and will be required
to own developing prototype firmware in early stages of the product.
Internal Responsibilities

- Design, develop prototype BIOS/UEFI firmware for x86 and/or ARM platforms.
- Review BMC firmware to ensure that it matches with the needs of target platform (sensors, platform routing, security…)
- Comprehend interaction of all firmware in the DC rack
- Develop and enhance BMC firmware to add DC specific enhancements to standard firmware package
- Contribute and extend Open-source platform management stacks such as OpenBMC
- Integrate platform management interfaces such as Redfish, IPMI, PLDM…
- Collaborate with Silicon vendors on reference code, firmware updates and firmware enablement.
- Ensure that Firmware meets OCI’s requirements for security, DC deployability, availability…
- Ensure vendor firmware update mechanism’s meet OCI requirements.
- Mentor engineers, participate in design reviews, and define standards for maintainable, supportable, production-grade firmware across teams.
Basic Qualifications
- 10+ years of firmware engineering experience, including senior/staff-level ownership of production systems.
- Knowledge of secure boot, TPM, measured boot and hardware root of trust
- Handson firmware engineering skills in BIOS, BMC FW or other platform firmware in server specific areas
- Strong communication skills, technical judgment, and ability to lead across teams without direct reporting authority.
- Knowledge of server firmware stacks such as EDKII, OpenBMC…
- Understanding of firmware standards such as UEFI, IPMI, Redfish …
- Understanding of server platform standards such as PLDM, ACPI, PCIe …
- Understanding of server power management, thermal management, telemetry
- Exposure to NIC firmware, GPU firmware and storage firmware
- Experience working on vendor silicon platform of one or more vendors (Intel, AMD, ARM, ASPEED … )
