What this job involves:
As a Facility Manager at JLL, you'll be at the heart of creating exceptional workplace experiences for our clients. This role puts you in charge of the comprehensive management of facilities operations, ensuring every aspect of the built environment runs smoothly, efficiently, and safely. You'll oversee maintenance programs, vendor relationships, and projects while serving as the primary point of contact for facility-related matters.

Your strategic thinking and operational excellence will directly impact how people experience their workplace, from managing critical building systems to implementing sustainability initiatives that align with organizational goals. You'll coordinate cross-functional teams, manage budgets, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational performance. This position requires someone who can balance the technical demands of facility management with strong relationship-building skills, as you'll be collaborating with stakeholders at all levels to ensure facilities support business objectives and create environments where people can do their best work.
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Oversee all aspects of facility operations including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems to ensure optimal performance and regulatory compliance
- Manage vendor relationships and service contracts, evaluating performance and negotiating terms to deliver quality service while optimizing costs
- Develop and execute preventive maintenance programs that minimize downtime and extend the lifecycle of building assets and equipment
- Lead capital improvement projects from planning through execution, coordinating with contractors, architects, and internal stakeholders to deliver on time and within budget
- Conduct regular facility inspections and audits to identify opportunities for improvement in safety, efficiency, and sustainability
- Respond to emergency situations and implement business continuity plans to protect people, property, and operations
- Monitor and manage facility budgets, tracking expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising service quality
- Coordinate space planning and workplace changes to support evolving business needs and enhance employee experience
- Prepare reports and presentations for leadership that communicate facility performance metrics, project status, and strategic recommendations
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Facility Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in facility management or building operations, preferably in C-suite environments
- Strong knowledge of building systems, codes, and regulations including OSHA, ADA, and local building codes
- Proven experience managing budgets, vendor contracts, and capital projects
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with a track record of implementing effective solutions under pressure
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across all organizational levels
- Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel between multiple sites as needed
Preferred qualifications:
- Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Facility Management Professional (FMP), or similar professional certification
- Experience with sustainability initiatives and green building certifications such as LEED
- Background in project management with PMP certification or equivalent credentials
- Knowledge of smart building technologies and integrated workplace management systems
- Experience managing facilities in the corporate, healthcare, or higher education sectors
- Familiarity with lease administration and space utilization analytics
- Advanced degree in related field
