Role Overview
As an Oracle Data Center Technician, you will be a vital liaison between our engineering teams and the physical data center operations environment. You will apply your WaV2T-acquired skills to troubleshoot and resolve server, network, and facilities issues, ensuring Oracle’s cloud services remain robust and reliable. Your experience with mission-critical operations, documentation, and structured procedures will enable you to thrive in Oracle’s dynamic, round-the-clock data centers.
Internal Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Leverage your WaV2T practical training and CompTIA certifications to install, maintain, and optimize server and network hardware.
- Respond to and triage incidents affecting facility or IT operations using your operational prioritization and incident response training.
- Diagnose and repair servers and networking equipment in accordance with Oracle’s and industry best practices.
- Serve as a technical liaison, communicating clearly with technical and non-technical teams.
- Manage inventory and logistics, ensuring accurate record-keeping of assets and spare parts.
- Participate in 24/7 shift rotations to support continuous operations, exhibiting teamwork and adaptability in a mission-critical environment.
- Plan and commission new rack equipment, assist with data center white space design, and perform structured fiber and copper cabling.
- Adhere to compliance, safety, and environmental regulations, reflecting the high standards of your military and WaV2T background.
Required Skills & Experience
- Successful completion of the Server and Cloud Application: Data Center Technician Pathway (WaV2T), including CompTIA Tech+ and/or Linux+ certification (or equivalent military technical training/work experience).
- 0-1 years’ experience in IT infrastructure, military communications, electronics, or data center support roles (including experience gained during military service).
- Proficiency in troubleshooting servers, networking devices, and IT equipment—enhanced by hands-on labs and real-world scenario training.
- Knowledge of data center operations, including electrical, cooling, airflow management (hot aisle/cold aisle), and commissioning rack equipment.
- Strong skills in structured cabling (fiber and copper) and inventory management.
- Understanding of systems administration (Linux and/or Windows, command line), core OS services (SSH, Telnet, RDP, FTP, NFS, DNS, DHCP), networking fundamentals (DNS, TCP/IP), and IT hardware concepts (RAID, SAN, x86, SCSI, FC, Ethernet, remote management tools).
- Physically able to lift up to 25kg and work in confined or elevated settings.
- Must be located near or willing to relocate to Salt Lake City.

- Academic Computer Science certificate (18 college credits) via WaV2T/Saint Martin’s University.
