Government Affairs Program Manager
Location: Washington DC Office - Hybrid
Salary Range: $70,000 -$85,000 +
$10,000 Annual Bonus PotentialThe Government Affairs Program Manager assists the Government Affairs team on a wide range of public policy, advocacy and internal business communications initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops advocacy materials and campaigns based on data and sound public policy arguments
- Writes policy memos, and white papers on public policy proposals and new business-line projects related to the changing health care landscape
- Assists with PAC and grassroots communications
- Manages projects that involve providing government affairs and product development support to Maxim’s field operations
- Researches and prepares presentations, testimony, and other materials targeted towards decision-makers to help promote Maxim as a credible and trusted source of healthcare information
- Assists in the development of State and Federal strategic legislative and regulatory priorities by working with government affairs leadership
- Identifies and leads external communication opportunities to leverage earned media placements to promote Maxim’s core and emerging business lines
- Continuously work to communicate, protect and enhance Maxim’s reputation with public policy decision makers
- Represent Maxim at events and conferences attended by public policy decision makers
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, Business Administration or related degree; Master's Degree or Juris Doctorate preferred
- Exceptional written and verbal communications skills as well as advanced analytical and critical thinking skills
- Demonstrates strong familiarity with the public policy process and the political decision-making process, particularly in the area of healthcare and healthcare payer in particular (Medicare, Medicaid and commercial health plans)
- Familiarity with the home healthcare industry and/or related health care legislative and regulatory issues a plus
- Experience in external communications preferred
- Self-starter who is comfortable with a hybrid work environment
- Ability to interpret data, identify patterns or trends, analyze results and develop and provide compelling reports a plus
- Must demonstrate sound judgment and commitment to ethical business practices
- Proficiency in the English language required
- Computer proficiency required, including experience with and knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
- Some Travel is required
