The Decorator is not just someone that ensures everything looks great onstage. One day the Decorator might perform maintenance on décor, respond to a trouble ticket, or assist in holiday preparation of our parks & resorts. This is the craft that helps to ensure everything ‘Guest Facing’ is up to the Walt Disney World standard. The Decorator applicant should have experience working with a field in one of the following: scenic, carpentry, paint, upholstery, floral arrangements or molding. The field service position may include work from elevated platforms and confined spaces throughout the Walt Disney World Parks and Resort property.
This is a Seasonal Role. Position will work approximately 4 months.
Responsibilities : - Perform scheduled routine maintenance on interior/exterior:
- Furniture, static props, sunshade, crowd control, decorative rope, netting, penates, Drapery/Upholstery, artificial foliage, artwork
- AWP, Forklifts, Lull, up to 30' box truck, ladder work, work at heights
Basic Qualifications : - Minimum of 4yrs experience in at least one the following disciplines:
- Set decorator/Props/Scenic
- Interior Design
- Carpenter – finish or rough
- Mold making / Carver
- Paint – Faux finishes
- Seamstress/Upholstery
- Florist
- Rope splicing or weaving
- Flooring
- Additional qualifications
- Proficient with Hand and Powered tools
- Proficient with general hardware & adhesives
- Able to lift, push or pull up to 50lbs
- Valid Drivers license
Preferred Qualifications: - Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
- Team player
- Proficiency in standard office software programs and mobile electronic devices
