As a member of the Sports Backend Engineering Product APIs team, you will help build and support the services and APIs that deliver sports data and content to Disney Entertainment and ESPN digital products across platforms, including the ESPN app, ESPN.com, ESPN Studio shows, and more. As a Product Software Engineer I, you will contribute to modernizing backend platforms, developing scalable services, and growing your technical expertise through hands-on engineering work. Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:
Review, analyze, and optimize code for readability, reliability, scalability, and performance
Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:
Experience with open-source technologies such as Spring, Tomcat, MySQL, Kafka, or Elasticsearch
Familiarity with cloud-based technologies such as AWS (EC2, ECS, S3, Lambda) or equivalent platforms
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience.
The hiring range for this position in Bristol, CT is $97,500 to $130,700 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
