Who we’re looking for
Toyota’s Plant Engineering (PLE) Production Engineering (PE) Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Civil Structural Engineer to be located at the Toyota Battery Manufacturing North Carolina (TBMNC) facility in Liberty, NC, or Production Engineering Manufacturing Center (PEMC) in Georgetown, KY to support Toyota PLE PE projects.
The primary responsibility of this role is to serve in support of implementation team capacity to develop project building designs with the support of third-party vendors along with building procurement processes from general contractor selection to build handover to the customer.
Reporting to a Project Manager, the project implementation team provides building support for new builds, expansions, modifications, and renewals that meet business and customer needs.
What you’ll be doing
Support project implementation and project development for new construction and renovation projects across NA portfolio
Lead renewal activities (equipment assessment through justification) of facility equipment
Support utility capacity analysis and report status for future projects
Collaborate with North American sites to identify equipment kaizen opportunities
Investigate customer feedback concerns and lead root cause analysis
Support maintenance and contingency plans for facility equipment
Support the Toyota North American Building Standards related to Building Mechanical and/or Civil Structural systems
Investigate building industry trends, global Toyota trends and current/past building issues
Introduce innovation and improvements for North American Mechanical and/or Civil/Structural Systems
Complete technical studies/evaluations related to potential building expansions and improvements including system capacity studies, estimates of new mechanical systems and schedule to implement
Provide internal review of mechanical and/or Civil/Structural Systems drawings from outside engineering firms to support construction phase
Provide technical support for Property Risk management program for new construction
What you bring
Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Mechanical, Civil/Structural Engineering, or related engineering discipline
3+ years' experience in Industrial Civil/Structural engineering (i.e. foundations, trusses, site planning, roadways, building codes. etc.) or in Industrial Mechanical Systems (i.e. compressed air, chilled water, wastewater, HVAC, etc.)
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, And Project
3+ years' experience in cost and schedule estimating and/or construction project management
Ability to travel up to 50% (domestic and/or international)
Ability to work overtime, as needed up to 20% (including some weekends and holidays)
Added bonus if you have
Toyota applicable knowledge/experience in site implementation structural systems or mechanical systems
Bluebeam or Adobe Acrobat experience
Industrial Building Construction Project Management experience
Facilities Operational experience at an Industrial Manufacturer
Proficiency with AutoCAD or Revit
Industry related Certifications in ASHRAE, CEM, and/or LEED AP
Worked with IBC or OSHA building compliance
